SkyPoint, Downtown Billings
That’s the motto of Downtown Billings – It’s All Here. I love downtown Billings. I live downtown. I work all over town; but, downtown… downtown is “it” for me. There’s always something going on downtown. The fantastically popular Alive After Five series has been announced. It starts up again on June 3rd. Hooray!! How it works is this: the Downtown Billings Association and a downtown business host an after-hours cocktail party and social hour. The ones I’ve attended have been great! You see new faces, meet and network with all kinds of people, get to know another local business, and have an excuse to dance, romance or just be social (as if you need an excuse.) Downtown Billings is the place for sitting on the patio with wine and appetizers. It’s the place for a morning coffee and people-watching, because people are actually walking on the sidewalks. This winter, downtown was lovely, because of the snow. With spring around the corner and the sun shining brighter and longer, sidewalks are busier and friendlier than ever.
You’ll find every kind of restaurant downtown – sushi, steaks, Thai, Mexican, tapas. Watering holes? Yep. Brew pubs? Of course. Karaoke? Every night. Dancing? It’s here too.
One of the finest regional performing arts theater’s is located downtown. The library? downtown. Art museums? downtown. Historical museum? downtown. Boutiques and shops? downtown! Live music? It’s downtown!!
Living downtown, I can walk to my favorite restaurant, walk to a jazz performance, walk to the grocery store, walk to the bank. As I explore downtown, I can even find some stunning graffiti. Yes, I said that. And I mean it.
Where are you this morning? In your car, fighting traffic? Or downtown in a coffee shop, enjoying a cup of joe, the morning paper and the view..!
Downtown Billings. Try it! Love it!
was that an exceptionally insightful rendering of life in downtown Billings, Montana, or, the rarely penned words of Billings, Montanas famous “golden belle”?
Clever, Leonard – the “golden belle” part. Thanks for the comment!
